Annual Events

Annual events like our Slo-pitch Tournament, golf tournaments, curling bonspiels and the Athabasca Raft Races are big hits with both the residents of Fox Creek and our out-of-town visitors.

The Fox Creek Chamber of Commerce also hosts a spectacular Canada Day celebration each year in front of the Tourist Information Centre with live music, a parade, great food and the now famous "Show n' Shine."

Besides these events our Emergency Services organizations host an annual ball (dinner and dance) and the RCMP hold an annual charity golf tournament.

Shopping

Downtown there is a Toonie Store, and contrary to its name, it carries a well known line of men's work wear and women's wear along with footwear, crafts and gifts. Our local Home Hardware is well equipped with furniture, appliances and a Sears catalogue outlet. Fox creek has beauty salons, specialty stores, a drug store with pharmacy, a laundromat, a butcher/deli shop, insurance sales, liquor stores, several independent and chain restaurants, video rentals, a beautifully renovated Freson IGA, movie rentals and a Source store (formerly Radio Shack).

Gas stations include Winks, Petro-Canada, Husky, Esso card lock, UFA card lock, and Petro-Canada card lock.

The Friends of Fox Creek Hospital Auxiliary also run a thrift shop, and other businesses you will find are the local tire shop and auto repair as well as a rental shop to name a few. Many other services or goods are provided by home occupations.
