Public Works & Services

Public Works is responsible, among other things, for collecting residential garbage, managing the landfill, and overseeing the Recycling Centre. For information on these, and other services that fall under the Public Works & Services umbrella, please contact our Director of Operations.

Garbage Pick-up

Sunrise Disposal is contracted to collect residential garbage from the Town of Fox Creek Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please contact the Town of Fox Creek Administration office at 780-622-3896 to find out what day garbage will be picked up at your location. Commercial businesses arrange for their own pick-up of garbage receptacles.

Two Clean-up Weeks are held annually, one in May and one in September. Unwanted household items and yard rubbish reasonably bound and set at the curb during these months. Please look for more information in the Newsletter. .

Every spring, the Public Works supports a "Toxic Roundup." Check back to the website soon for more information.

Volunteer organizations and schools also participate in cleaning up the community. If you are interested in picking cleaning up the town please contact 622-2418. .

Landfill Hours (Located 1.5 km north east on Kaybob Drive)

  • Monday to Saturday (year-round): 11:00am to 4:00pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday (May to September): Noon to 7:00pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday (October to April): Noon to 4:00pm
  • Closed Sundays & holidays

Recycling

Recycling is located on Campground road by the Town Office.
There are containers for:

  • catalogues
  • cardboard

Snow Removal

Our Public Works staff work hard year round to ensure that roadways are maintained and kept accessible to all residents at all times of the year.

Emergency routes, Airport, main collectors and school routes take priority over other areas. During periods of heavy snowfall or other extreme weather conditions, please have patience as maintenance crews work to get to your area as quickly as possible.

Predicting the amount of snowfall over the winter (especially in Alberta) is a difficult thing to do - the Town of Fox Creek is committed to maintaining a balanced budget, and to providing cost-effective, efficient service. Your cooperation and patience regarding snow removal is encouraged and much appreciated by the Town and your fellow citizens.
