Meet the Mayor & Council

Mayor Leora MacKinnon

Leora MacKinnon

I was born and raised in Kimberley, B.C. and moved to Fox Creek in 1981. My husband Lorne and I have two children, Jenn and Cam, and one granddaughter, Tyra.

My municipal career with the Town of Fox Creek started in 1993 as an administration clerk. I worked in several departments, assisted the Town Manager in development, and then advanced to an Assistant Development Officer.

After leaving my job with the Town and spending several years in the private sector, I found myself yearning to return to municipal work so I ran for Council in the 2004 election. I served as a Town Councilor for two years and in January 2007 I became Interim Mayor. In October 2007 I was elected Mayor. I serve on several committees and I am a very proud ambassador for Fox Creek. ...Return to Mayor and Council Page
